Words fall short, when I think of writing on this topic. Someone had once said these agreeable lines:
“While almost any man can father a child, there is so much more to the important role of being dad in a child’s life”.
We pen down down hell lot of things that goes around us, but all that while we forget to appreciate the person who keeps us motivated. I won’t do it how others did. Rather, i just want everyone to take atleast a minute to thank our fathers for everything they have done for us.
Dad’s, they stay behind the limelight so that they can see us outshining before the world. They will wear the same trousers for years without even complaining, so that their kids endless wants gets fulfilled. Not just this, but they too cry in the dark seeing the hardships and pain that their kids face at some point in their life.
Still “DAD”, you wipe all your precious tears and stand next to us as our towers of strength. They go through an immense pressure to provide us with a palatial lifestyle. His involvement extends into adolescence and young adulthood. From infancy, we girls draw conclusions about what men are like from the men in their life . Even on days, when he feels weak he stands up with pride to give fortitude to all. He is one of the most unpraised, unsung, unnoticed and yet one of the most valuable assets of our society. It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes them fathers. He is always there to extricate us from the painful last images that might endure for a lifetime. He plays not just one but an endless number of roles in our lives.
He tastes the essence of his fatherhood, turns back from the plane of his experience, takes with him the fruits of his journey and begins again beside his child marching step by step over the same old road. I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father’s protection.
“Kent Nerburn” had said these beatific lines:
“Until we have a child of our own… we will never know the joy, the love beyond feeling that resonates in the heart of a father as he looks upon his child”
He is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there but a guiding light whose love shows us the way. I am not ashamed to say that no man I ever met was my fathers equal and I never loved any other man as much. His intelligence, work ethics, patience, confidence gave me courage and strength to stand and face the world but also to establish a mark of my own.
He stays with us holding our hand from the first to those endless footsteps that we ever take. They portray themselves being too strong from the outside like a coconut but their inside is as sensitive and soft as it’s skin.
DAD… you are more than a hundred schoolmasters..
‘FATHER’ to god himself we cannot give a holier name. Can never thank you enough for giving me the “majesty of a tree, power of the eagle’s flight, patience of eternity and depth of a family need”.
“to my… Strong Father”
Thanks for being you. YOUU are one of the funniest people I know and such an amazing dad to me. You are the most beautiful blessing.. Can never thank you enough for all what you have done for us all.
